5 Steps To Get Your Business Started

by: Mike Paetzold

One of the biggest problems most newer marketers online have is defining their business. I might even be able to retire if I had a $1 for every person I have heard when asked what their business is answers "I just want to make money."

Now that is probably something that we all want to do but the question is how? Have you decided on an actual business model to generate that money you want?

Business is business whether based on line of off line. You have to have a plan and a goal.

You have to avoid the information overload.

Below are 5 steps to take to get your business started.

  • 1. Define your business.
    2. Plan out the ways to implement your business.
    3. Break that plan into small pieces.
    4. Put the blinders on once you have decided how you are going to build your business.
    5. Set a time frame to review and adapt.

    Define your business

Decide what you are going to do online. There are lots of choices. Affiliate marketing, Adsense, your own product, etc.

Plan out the ways to implement your business.

If you are going to do Adsense figure out how you are going to put up the sites, etc. Affiliate marketing - decide what types of products and how you are going to promote them.

Break the plan into small pieces

I'll use the Adsense example. You need to get a Google account, be able to get pages on line, optimize them for search engines, build back links, etc.

    Put the blinders on

If you decided on Adsense in our example you will not look at all the distractions. You will spend your time building sites, getting the links, optimizing your pages, etc. You won't get sidetracked into all the other things that look like just can't miss prospects.

Set a time frame to review and adapt

Do a review of what you have accomplished. It can be monthly, quarterly or whatever works for you. Use this to decide what you are doing well and what is not working. It is okay to change and adapt if you find you need to. Just make sure that it is based on what you are doing and not chasing the latest and greatest money making scheme.

Follow these 5 steps and you will be surprised at how fast your business can come together.
